Students in Mrs. Savvides' class have been learning about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. this week. They made crown today to celebrate and share his message of kindness, respect and peace.

It's cold outside - and inside! Students in Mrs. Lomnicky's class discovered color mixing as different colored ice cubes melted and merged.


Wintonbury students used their large muscles to pack and transport food donations to the bus circle. The bus stopped at all Bloomfield schools today to get "stuffed" with food for the Bloomfield Food Bank.

Students from across the district supported the Bloomfield Food Bank located at Leisure Services as part of the 3rd Annual Stuff the Bus Food Drive. Students from Carmen Arace Intermediate School, Carmen Arace Middle School, and Bloomfield High School helped to unload the bus.

Despite the delayed opening this morning, students in Room 204 had plenty of time to push and pull their friends in the snow.

PJ's for the Kids! Today Wintonbury raised money for Connecticut Children's Medical Center by wearing PJs to school. It was a great day to get cozy and warm in pajamas.

The Bloomfield Warhawks Football team have advanced to the Class S Football Championship for the second year in a row! Come support the Warhawks as they take on Ansonia on Saturday, December 14 at 10:30 AM. The game will take place at Rentschler Field in East Hartford.

Students in Mrs. Guidice's class (room 106) used a hand mill today to grind cracked corn into flour.

Students in Mrs. Savvides class were excited to see their star ornaments on Wintonbury's Kindness Tree. On each star is written a kind gesture expressed by a student. The Kindness Tree will be on display at the Wadsworth Atheneum's 50th Anniversary Festival of Trees, December 5-15.

We had a great time welcoming families to our annual PJ Literacy Night. Families ventured on a scavenger hunt to find decorated doors to match specific books. Every child went home with a book they picked! Letter building, book making, story retelling, story time and a pizza dinner, were also part of the offerings.

Students in Mrs. Hein's classroom (Room 201) are investigating pinecones and representing their findings with drawings.


Children in Ms. Lombardo's Class (room 302) had a wonderful time playing in the leaves at Auerfarm today!
