The deadline to fill out our district-wide Climate Survey is Thursday, Dec. 21. The survey allows us to measure the level of positive school climate by getting anonymous feedback from students, families and staff. Here is the link to the survey:

The district’s next free Family Workshop Series is Thursday, Dec. 14, 6 p.m., at the town’s community center, 330 Park Ave. The topic is “The Self-Care and Parenting Connection - Defining Self-Care and What it Means to You.” The family workshop series will continue into 2024.


It was a cozy, pajama day at Wintonbury, as our community raised money for Connecticut Children's Medical Center (CCMC). Students has fun comparing and contrasting the patterns , colors and designs of the pajamas.

Researchers have found a strong correlation among positive school climates, attendance and student achievement

Don't forget to visit our Book Fair in the front lobby. The fair will be open during parent-teacher conferences, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 1:00 - 4:00.


State Title up for Grabs: BHS football team plays for the CIAC Class S state championship this Saturday, Dec. 9, 10:30 a.m., vs. Cromwell/Portland at Rentschler Field in East Hartford. Tickets can be purchased Online ONLY at gofan.com.
This is the third consecutive year that BHS has advanced to the state finals. Team has won one state title in past five years.


Schools are conducting Parent Teacher Conferences on December 6-8. We strongly encourage parents/guardians to meet with their children’s teachers so they can play a role in their child’s academic and social development. There will be Early Dismissal on those days at 12:15 p.m.

Prospective family Open House is cancelled due to district wide after school program closures. The open house will be rescheduled.

Town's Annual Holiday Parade kicks off this Saturday, at town hall.

Mrs. Pearl's class ate lunch family style and toasted to a Happy Thanksgiving with cups of fresh apple cider.

Another successful Food Drive for the district. Buses at all seven schools were stuffed with non-perishable food items and delivered to the Bloomfield Food Bank yesterday. Thanks to all for your generous spirit. Happy Thanksgiving!




The district’s Thanksgiving recess runs from Wednesday, Nov.22 to Friday, Nov. 24. Schools and central office will be closed.

Wintonbury students used their large muscles to push and pull boxes and bags filled with food to the school bus. The donated food was loaded onto the bus to support the BPS food drive.

On Friday, students sorted, counted and packed food collected for our Bloomfield Public Schools "Stuff the Bus" food drive.


Friendly Reminder: District's holiday Stuff the Bus Food Drive, to support Bloomfield Food Bank, ends today. Non-perishable food items may be dropped off at any of our schools this morning. Buses will be located at each school site. At noon, the final collection site will be the town's community center, 330 Park Ave.


Eight Carmen Arace Middle School students are experiencing the fields of science and laboratory medicine through a novel 10-week after-school partnership with the Center for DNA-Guided Medicine in Hartford.


Congratulations to the recently elected Board of Education, new chairperson Lynette Easmon and returning vice chair Howard Frydman. The other members of the new board, which held its first meeting Tuesday, Nov. 14, are: new Board Secretary Femi Bogle-Assegai, Kimberly Dunbar, Thomas Moore,, Dr. Lisa Simone and Tiffany Mack-Mohammed.
