Bloomfield Public Schools - and Superintendent Dr. James Thompson, Jr. - have been selected as one of Our Piece of the Pie’s 2023 Champions honorees for their longstanding commitment to youth empowerment. A reception for all recipients was held recently at Dunkin Stadium's Yard Goats Club. OPP's mission is to provide developmental and and job training to Greater Hartford's youth.

Our annual LIteracy Night was a huge success! Families loved matching decorated doors to specific books on a literary scavenger hunt. All children went home with a brand new book thanks to our PTO.

Mr. Turner's class harvested the plants they were observing last month. Students pulled radishes out of their garden and looked closely at roots, leaves and the bright red root vegetable.



Students in Mrs. Guidice's room used our kids kitchen today to make pumpkin pancakes. The students helped to measure the ingredients and stir the batter. They could smell the delicious aroma of the pancakes as they cooked on the griddle. Of course the best part was eating them!




Students explore the planting station in our greenhouse. As they fill pots with soil, they are developing hand-eye coordination and refinement of movement.


Students were treated to pesto rice on their lunch tray. It was prepared by our wonderful Chef Lise, with basil we grew in our garden.


Joseph Renzulli, world renown pioneer in gifted education and teaching strategies to promote academic growth for all children, was one of the visitors at yesterday's launch of a global academic partnership between Bloomfield's fifth and sixth graders and a school in Brazil. The American Psychological Association named Mr. Renzulli among the 25 most influential psychologists in the world.
